The First HUHA Legacy Photoshoot

On the 6th of November 2024, the journey of the HUHA Legacy Collection officially began. My first photoshoot took place at Haywood Sanctuary, one of HUHA’s cherished locations, where I had the privilege of photographing a variety of rescue animals. This was the start of bringing the vision of combining fine art with animal rescue to life.

Meet the some of the Stars

Each animal I photographed at Haywood Sanctuary had a story to tell, and capturing their personalities was truly an honour. Here are the incredible rescue animals who stepped into the spotlight:

The Process Behind the Lens

For this shoot, I used my Canon R5 alongside Elinchrom lighting equipment provide from Progear. Each animal presented its own set of challenges, whether it was keeping their attention or capturing their unique expressions. The sanctuary’s peaceful environment and HUHA’s care for these animals made the process smoother and deeply rewarding.

The Stories That Matter

What struck me most was how these animals, despite their diverse backgrounds and challenges, radiated trust and resilience. Budgie’s determination to get around on his front legs and Mokey’s quick adaptation to visual cues were especially moving. Each of these animals embodies HUHA’s mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide love to animals who need it most.

Why It Matters

Every photo in the HUHA Legacy Collection not only showcases the beauty and personality of these animals but also supports a vital cause. With 100% of the profits going directly to HUHA, each purchase helps fund their lifesaving work.

What’s Next?

This first photoshoot was just the beginning. Next, I’ll be heading to the Otaki Dog Shelter, where I’ll capture the stories of even more incredible animals. Stay tuned for the next chapter in the HUHA Legacy Collection.

How You Can Support

By purchasing a print from the HUHA Legacy Collection, you’re not just acquiring a piece of fine art—you’re directly contributing to the care and rescue of animals like Casper, Mokey, and Budgie. Together, we can make a difference.
